Our Story
My name’s Jayden, and our story all started with my dad, who first kept fish in his early teens. What began as a few tanks quickly turned into a lifelong passion, keeping, learning about and breeding fish whenever life allowed. Over the years, his hobby came and went, but the love for it never faded. Eventually, life took him from the Central Coast up to Lismore in the Northern Rivers, where he truly fell in love with breeding fish.
I caught the fishkeeping bug myself while living on the Central Coast, and ten years later I made the move north to join him. Together, we decided to live our dream: breeding beautiful, healthy fish and sharing them with hobbyists across Australia.
Along the way, we noticed how challenging it can be for small breeders to sell their fish. Too often, they’re offered low prices or just store credit for all their hard work. We wanted to do things differently. Ripple Effect Aquatics was created to give local breeders a fair go, help fish find loving homes, and share our experience with the community.
Our goal is more than just selling fish, it’s about creating a ripple effect of knowledge, support, and enthusiasm in the aquarium hobby. We’re here to help beginners learn the right way to care for their tanks, support fellow breeders, and provide high-quality, hardy fish for every aquarist.
