Test strips aren't a replacement for a full liquid test kit, but they're an excellent tool for regular quick checks between more thorough tests. For beginners especially, having a pack of test strips on hand makes it easy to build the habit of monitoring water quality regularly, which is one of the most important things a new aquarist can do to keep their fish healthy. At 50 strips per pack, there's enough here for a consistent testing routine over several months.
Store strips in the sealed container with the lid closed tightly between uses to maintain accuracy. Do not touch the test pads with your fingers before use. For the most accurate results, test water at the same time of day and avoid testing immediately after adding chemicals or doing a water change. If results indicate elevated nitrate (this is normal), perform a partial water change and retest after 24 hours.
