How the Aquarium Bottom Feeder Feeding Tube Compares

🎯 Aquarium Bottom Feeder Feeding Tube

  • ⬇️
Delivers Food Directly to the Bottom: Sends sinking food through the tube and straight to the collection tray, bypassing much of the upper water column.
  • 🐟
Helps Bottom Dwellers Feed: Gives corydoras, loaches, plecos, shrimp and other bottom feeders a dedicated feeding area away from faster mid-water fish.
  • 🎯
Controlled Food Placement: Directs food into the centre of the tray, helping minimise scattering and unnecessary waste.
  • 🛡️
Protective Feeding Grid: The anti-clamp grid helps prevent smaller fish and shrimp from becoming trapped while accessing food in the tray.
  • 📏
Adjustable for Different Tanks: The 17–38cm adjustable tube and suction-cup mounting make it easy to position at different aquarium depths.

🍽️ Feeding Sinking Food Normally

  • 🐟
Exposed to the Water Column: Sinking food remains accessible to fish throughout its descent and may be intercepted before reaching the bottom.
  • 🏃
Faster Fish Can Compete: Quick-moving tetras, danios, barbs and other fish may reach sinking food before bottom dwellers.
  • 🌊
Food Can Spread: Water movement and feeding activity can cause sinking food to scatter across the substrate.
  • 🧹
More Difficult to Control Placement: It can be harder to consistently deliver food to one specific area of the aquarium.
  • 🐠
Less Dedicated Feeding Space: Bottom feeders share the same feeding area as the rest of the aquarium unless food is manually directed elsewhere.

Why We Stock It

Bottom dwellers are some of the most useful and interesting fish in a community tank, but they're also the easiest to underfeed without realising it. If your corydoras or loaches are looking thin despite regular feeding, competition from faster fish is often the reason. This tube is a simple, effective solution that ensures your bottom dwellers are actually getting fed.

Care & Maintenance

Rinse the tube and tray periodically to remove food residue and algae build-up. Check suction cups regularly to ensure the tube remains securely positioned. Remove any uneaten food from the tray after feeding to maintain water quality.
