Why We Stock It

The media kit inclusion removes a common friction point for aquarists setting up a canister filter for the first time. Combined with UV sterilisation at this price point, it's a complete filtration solution for mid-sized tanks that doesn't require sourcing additional components before you can get started.

Care & Maintenance

Clean the spiral propeller and casing periodically to prevent heavy debris build-up, which can reduce flow and strain the motor over time. Always disconnect from power before handling. If the pump stops unexpectedly, check for blockages first, the built-in overheat protection will cut the motor if it runs too hot, which is usually a sign something is restricting flow. Clearing the blockage and allowing the motor to cool before restarting is all that's typically needed. Replace the UV globe annually or when you notice a drop in water clarity despite clean mechanical media. UV globes degrade over time and lose effectiveness before they stop working entirely, so annual replacement is good practice regardless of whether the lamp still appears to be on. UV replacement globes are available from most aquarium retailers or online. Check your model's specifications for the correct wattage before purchasing.
