This formula combines two of Xtreme’s most popular foods (Krill Flakes and Spirulina Flakes) creating a versatile everyday diet that supports healthy growth, vibrant colouration, and strong overall fish health.
The Krill used in these flakes is responsibly sourced from clean waters around Alaska and South Africa, while the Spirulina is farm-grown in the USA under strict quality controls, ensuring both freshness and nutritional integrity, the colour of the Krill flakes may vary slightly depending on their source location.
The recipe features a 60% spirulina and 40% krill blend, delivering a balanced mix of plant-based and marine proteins. Spirulina is widely recognised in aquaculture for its nutritional benefits and is grown in the USA under strict quality control standards. It is highly digestible, helping fish absorb more nutrients while supporting healthy digestion and consistent growth rates. Spirulina also contains natural carotene pigments that can help bring out brighter, more natural colours in ornamental fish.
Krill provides a rich source of protein along with essential vitamins, minerals, and carotenoids that further enhance natural colouration. The natural oils and nutrients found in krill also support immune health and contribute to strong skeletal development. Feeding Guide:
Feed only what your fish can consume within 1-4 minutes, removing any uneaten food if necessary to maintain good water quality.
For most aquariums, feeding a small amount twice daily or a larger amount once per day is more than sufficient. Many fish benefit from lighter feeding schedules, as this allows time for proper digestion and helps reduce common issues such as constipation, bloating, and internal blockages.
In our own fish room, we often feed a larger amount every 2–3 days rather than daily. This approach helps keep fish active, improves digestion, and supports long-term health, especially in species prone to digestive issues.
For fast-growing juveniles or fry, smaller portions daily may need to be offered more frequently if required, provided water quality is closely monitored.
As with all foods, adjust feeding frequency and portion size based on your fish species, tank size and filtration.
